Disaster Risk Management online training seminar series 2025

In cooperation with Disaster Risk Management Knowledge Centre (DRMKC) and CONRIS network

CONRIS network

Intro

Our world is changing rapidly and the future is uncertain. By considering alternative plausible future worlds, it is possible to develop more resilient policies.  The theme of the training this year focuses on the "integration of foresight into risk assessment", in response to the JRC's new publication "Analysis of risks Europe is facing; an analysis of current and emerging risks".

Disaster and Emergency Management course at Coventry University will host a series of 10 online training seminars between September and December 2025, with the support from the European Commission Disaster Risk Management Knowledge Centre (DRMKC) and the Cooperation Network of Risk, Safety and Security studies (CONRIS).

The training seminars series is embedded as part of the undergraduate year 2 module ‘Risk and Preparedness’. Detail programmes are listed in the table below. We welcome students and staff from CONRIS partner universities to participate in the seminars. Participants will be given the opportunity to consider a variety of disaster risk management tools and foresight strategies, from the European perspectives to global context. Professionals and officers involved in risk management, civil protection and humanitarian assistance are also welcome.

The training is free of charge. Participants will receive a certificate of attendance if they have joined at least 8 seminars.
